A bit of history about the Bateaux-Mouches:
The Bateaux Mouches are woven into the historical narrative of the city. These riverboats appeared in 1867 during the inauguration of the Universal Exposition, only to fall into disuse after the opening of the metro in 1900. However, in 1950, the Compagnie Des Bateaux-Mouches was established, thus offering thousands of tourists the chance to enjoy a lunch or dinner aboard a Seine river Cruise.
